Reading the rhythm of a city

A portfolio analysis of public New York City taxi data, exploring when and where trips happen and how to think about trip efficiency.

Taxi journeys offer a way to look at a city through movement. This portfolio project uses public NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission data to explore questions about trip timing, location, and efficiency.

Python and Tableau support the analysis and visualization. The editorial focus is the relationship between the questions: when a journey takes place, where it begins or ends, and what those details might mean when considering operations.

As a portfolio exploration of transport data, the work brings timing, location, and trip efficiency into one discussion. It offers a setting for thinking about urban journeys through both a business lens and a data lens.
